Mr. Caleb Okechukwu, a tech guy based in Anambra State, has raised an alerm, exposing what innocent young men face in the hands of the bad eggs in the Nigeria law enforcement agencies.
Mr. Okechukwu while lamenting over how the unprofessional act by men of Nigeria Police Force, cost him and his friend fortunes, narrated his recent experience.
“On November 2, 2025, while rounding up my engagements in the ever-busy city of Lagos, I and my friend, Humble Chris, headed to retire for the day.
“Having alighted the booked rider, we walked to connect to the street. While on that, a Sienna bus double-crossed us in a commando style. I and Christopher Chimezie Onyejekwe maintained calm while holding our belongings tightly.
“Before we could say a word, the men forced us into their Sienna bus without allowing us to identify who we are. These men were well armed with AK47 rifles with 3 extra magazines each.
“While they drove us, I asked them who they were; one of them said harshly, “When you get to where we are going, this your English won’t save you”.
“They seized my friend’s phone immediately the phone rang, while the other man, believed to be in his late 50s, wanted to forcefully take my phone, which faced resistance from me, and he gave me an uppercut on my jaw before I succumbed to his use of force.
“These men drove and got some other people kidnapped in such commando style while giving them no space to identify themselves. Some of the victims were strongly brutalised, while some were given blown eyes and physical injuries.
“We were driven to a place that I later discovered to be the Orile Police Station; they took everything we had and forced all of us into the cell without any interrogations.
“As a tech guy, I did my best to get some evidence to back these facts. We stayed incommunicado until the following morning, being November 3, when they called me and my friend out of the cell and allowed us to make a call. Just as kidnappers operate, the call was for us to get someone or people who would pay ransom for us to be released.
“I enquired several times to know what my offences were, but they kept saying that we kept late nights. I asked them to educate me on the constitutional backings that restrict the fundamental human rights of a law-abiding citizen to freely observe his rights to movement. These guys can be described as the bad eggs in the Nigeria Police Force.
“When we were brought into the station that night, it was Inspector Mary Abimbola who wrote our names, and in the morning it became so obvious that she is everything a good police officer should NEVER be; her conduct was rude even to the elderly.
“Another officer who accused me of trying to be the smart one is Kally, believed to be an inspector. He is fair, slim, inhuman and unprofessional. He slaps at anyone at will. Very wicked man that has children. He attacked even the people that came for my friend and me.
“I thank in a special way Jabulani, Ebuka Sly, Akaeze Igbakwu, Bro Johnson, and the leadership of Oduade Market, Lagos, who placed calls in the high places, and the station knew that they had messed with the wrong people, which made them hastily release us before the DPO could report to the office.
“This unprofessional act by these men cost me and my friend fortunes, as our respective businesses suffered losses as a result of us being disconnected from our respective clients while the unjust abduction lasted.
“I later placed a call to the new police public relations of Lagos State, SP Abimbola Adebisi, but she didn’t respond or return the calls. Lagos state police force should do better!
“It will be very difficult for some people to understand dangers that innocent young men face in the hands of the bad eggs in the Nigeria law enforcement agencies. It’s terrible, I must say!
“In any office that you find yourself in, be good, be kind, and most especially discharge your duties professionally because God, nature and humanity reward good souls. Don’t be like those bad eggs attached to Orile police station.
