I Started Smoking, Masturbating At 13– Tonto Dikeh Confesses 27-Year Addiction In Church

Nollywood star Tonto Dikeh stunned worshippers on Sunday as she openly confessed to years of smoking, alcohol addiction, masturbation and uncontrollable anger, declaring she has now been delivered.

The actress made the revelation during the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD) service at Streams of Joy International Church, led by Pastor Jerry Eze. The emotional moment was captured in a video later shared on YouTube by DCLImagery.

With raw honesty, Dikeh told the congregation her struggles began in her early teens.

“I smoked since I was 13. God healed me from masturbation, too. I have known myself to have sexual intercourse in the dream ever since I was a child,” she said.

She admitted she nearly backed out of giving the testimony, fearing public backlash.

“The devil tried to tell me that I was supposed to protect my image. But I told myself, what image? The God that gave me the image is the same God that can take it away,” she said.

According to the actress, her turning point came after attending the Ghana Prayer Conference, where she said years of spiritual captivity ended.

“I realised that the weak man who held me captive all my years in my dream ran away,” she said.

Dikeh also spoke about battling what she described as “demonic anger,” which she said damaged her personal life and relationships.

“An anger that destroyed my life. Everybody had to feel it. But praying with NSPPD, God took all of those away and gave me peace,” she said.

She described the peace she now enjoys as something she had never experienced before.

“I am 40 years old, and I can tell you I have never known peace until now. I am living in it,” she said.

Revealing the length of her addiction, the actress said she smoked for 27 years, tracing the habit to childhood exposure at home and warning parents to be cautious.

“I started smoking because my dad was a smoker. Something as little as that habit can inhabit the lives of your children,” she said.

She added that her cravings for cigarettes and alcohol have completely stopped.

“My body does not ask for it. My body is repelling it. Today, it is broken.”

Pastor Jerry Eze later prayed for her, declaring that “the body of sin is broken” and describing her as “a voice in her generation.”

After the service, Dikeh shared photos from the church on Instagram, captioning them.

“A living testimony of mercy. One God spared, restored, and commissioned.”

The actress has in recent months been vocal about her renewed Christian journey, describing this season of her life as one of peace, restoration and spiritual recommitment.
