Ibezim Lays Foundation Stone For Midwifery At Millennium College Of Nursing Sciences In Awka

Archbishop, Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim has laid the foundation stone for the Midwifery and Public Health Nursing departments at the Millennium College of Nursing Sciences, Awka.

During the ceremony, Archbishop Ibezim celebrated the transformation of the nursing college from its humble beginnings into a hub of learning where healthcare workers are trained to confront the challenges in the healthcare sector, saving lives, impacting local communities, and the society at large.

Archbishop Ibezim commended the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 General elections, Mr. Peter Obi, for his unwavering support and contributions towards the college’s growth, offering prayers for his continued prosperity.

In his address, Mr. Obi commended Archbishop Ibezim’s dedication to improving humanity through the college and emphasized that there will be an increase in global demand for professionals in science, technology, nursing, and midwifery by 2030 which underscores the significance of preparing students for the future.

Mr. Obi stressed that nurses are critical components of the healthcare system and urged Nigeria to invest in its human resource capital for a better future.

Provost of the college, Mrs. Chisom Ezulike, highlighted the institution’s vision of excellence through dynamic programmes and the goal of producing competent, compassionate, and scientifically proficient nursing, midwifery, and public health professionals capable of providing healthcare locally and internationally.

She expressed deep appreciation to Archbishop Ibezim for making the project a reality and recognized Mr. Obi for his support and contributions.
