Idemili South Council Chairman, Amaka Charges Youths To Take Advantage Of Skill Acquisition Opportunities

The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area has called on youths and women to take advantage of the many opportunities available in the state through acquiring skills.

She made the call today Friday, 30th June, 2023 as she flagged off the second phase of the skill acquisition training programme for youths and women in Idemili South Council Area.

The training which was tagged “Skills Acquisition Training programme for youth’s and women” would benefit over 200 young and adults in the council area.

The beneficiaries would be trained in catering, hair dressing, makeup, fashion and design, Head gear, Nylon production and ICT.

Declaring the training open, Hon Amaka Obi urged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the programme to reintegrate into the society and better their lives.

She went further to address the trainees and their resource persons in their respective groups and also took a tour of the groups to supervise their respective departments to ascertain the level of success of the training.

Expressing her satisfaction with the commitment of the beneficiaries in the training, Hon. Amaka noted that there will be an evaluation and monitoring exercise after the training, to measure progress made by beneficiaries and promised to continue to assist them even after it had been concluded.

In their separate remarks, the community women leader of Alor, Mrs Grace Uche Nwoye and her Nnobi counterpart Lady Ifeyinwa Nnekwulugo thanked the Local Government Chairman, Amaka Obi, for facilitating the programme and called on the beneficiaries to make maximum use of the training for diversification to improve standard of living as well as the economy of the State.

 

Others who notable personalities who attended the the program were the Local Government Committee Team, Ward Councilors, community women leaders of Ojoto and Oba, Mrs Anthonia Okonkwo and Mrs Chizoba Ngozi Onwuka amongst others.
