The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon Obi Amaka Iyom has concluded plans to create a breastfeeding creches in the local government offices to enhance breastfeeding among nursing mothers.
ANN reports that Hon Obi who was screened and confirmed as the TC chairman of Idemili South for another three months by the Anambra 8th assembly on Thursday, made the disclosure at the flag off ceremony of World Exclusive Breastfeeding And Zero Water Campaign.
Speaking at Ojoto Local Government Headquarters, the council boss noted that the breastfeeding-friendly environments, when created, would enable breastfeeding mothers to take care of their children adequately.
Speaking further, the council boss explained that the creches would be sheds where breastfeeding mothers would have convenient and habitable environment to breastfeed their babies without disruption of productive periods.
According to her, the places will be equipped with relevant instruments and safety gadgets to ensure habitability in the places.
