Idemili South Council Mayor, Hon. Amaka Tasks Teachers On Professionalism And Ethical Standard In Schools

The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Amaka Obi has called on teachers to step up in their responsibilities inorder to meet up with the modification in the digital transformation of the education system and practice.

She made this remarks at the one day teacher summit held at the women development hall in the the council headquarters.

In a welcome address, Hon. Amaka Obi affirmed that the rejigging of the teaching and education system reforms by Gov Soludo spurred the desire to queue into the vision to continue in training and retraining of teachers of the council.

She maintained that since education is one of the topmost priorities of the Prof Chukwuma Soludo solution Agenda a day can not be enough if we must offer you all the knowledge on teacher’s retraining and education but this shall serve as in-way towards improving your teaching skills she added.

 

While appreciating the guest, Hon. Amaka urge teachers to remain steadfast on impacting the right knowledge to the children and the society and also support the vision of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo to build a better, livable and prosperous Anambra.

Also speaking, Dr. Ikechukwu Augustine of the Guidance and Counseling department, Faculty of Education, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka in his lecture series titled “Building Back Better in Education and Training ; Reimagining, Reorienting and Redistributing the Education System emphasized the need for teachers to upskilling their experience and expertise in different discipline in order to remain relevant in the modernized world.

He went further to stressed the need for teachers to maintain integrity, respect and expressed competence laying emphasis on community engagement and advised the teachers to engage the right cycle and style of teaching inorder to bring out the best in every child.

The member representing Idemili North in the state house of assembly, Hon. Azubike Udemezue while expressing his happiness commended the the TC Chairman for the brilliant initiative and noted that the role of teachers in building a productive and responsible society can never be overemphasized.

Hon. Udemezue applauded the teachers for working to impact positive values in the life of children and the society and promised to propose a bill to help every child in his constituency access affordable and quality education in the 8th Assembly.

In their separate remarks, the Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Vin Ezeaka and the Chairman Anambra State Universal Basic Education (ASUBEB) Dr. Vera Nwadinobi also commended Hon. Amaka for her special interest in education and urged teachers to key into the training in order to upgrade their skills necessary and be certified agents of transformation to upgrade their skills to raise students who are morally upright and uphold the values of the society.

The event witness the attendance of representatives of the commissioner for education, representative of the chairman PPSSC, Prof. Nkechi Ikediugwu, representative of AEO Idemili South, Mrs. Ugochukwu Chidimma, Idemili South HLGA, Lady Nkemdilim Amaka, teachers within the local government, educationist, and others.
