The Local Government Chairman of Idemili South Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi has commissioned solar powered borehole water in Civic Centre, Oba.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that Obi was accompanied alongside Deputy Mayor, Hon. Ifeanyi Anakuba, Majority Leader, Hon. Gozie Okafor,
President General of Oba, Engr. Uzo Ejiofor, stakeholders, councillors, party executives, women leader and youth leaders.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Obi emphasized the importance of providing access clean water, stating that it is a basic human right. She expressed her appreciation to the dignitaries who graced the occasion and promised to continue to work towards the improvement of livelihood of the people of Idemili South.
In his speech, the State Assistant Treasurer of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Hon. Uche Maduekwe, lauded Hon. Amaka Obi’s efforts towards community development, describing her as a progressive minded Mayor who is passionate about the needs of the people.
In his remarks, the President General of Oba community, Engr. Uzo Ejiofor commended Hon. Obi for the initiative, saying that it is a step in the right direction towards improving the living standard of the people in the community.
