Ifitedunu Community Endorses Dunukofia Mayor ‘Ozumba’, Donates 5 Million Naira

Ahead of the upcoming Anambra local government election, Ifitedunu community in Dunukofia LGA, on Sunday, 8th February, 2026, unanimously endorsed the Mayor, Bar.Chijioke Ozumba, for a second term in office,

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that the community describing the
administration of the local government Chairman, as purposeful, inclusive, and development-driven.

The endorsement took place during a well-attended stakeholders’ meeting of the community, where community leaders, party executives, and village representatives openly declared their support for continuity.

Ndi Ifitedunu also donated the sum of Five Million Naira (₦5,000,000) in support of Ozumba’s re-election bid.

In his speech, former President General of Ifitedunu Town Union, Hon. George Chinweze, commended Mayor Ozumba for his humility, accessibility, and visible achievements across Dunukofia. He stated that the community had carefully assessed the Mayor’s performance and resolved that continuity remained in the best interest of the local government.

In his address, the Traditional Ruler of Ifitedunu, Igwe Chukwuemeka Ilouno, represented by Chief Tochukwu Ilouno, gave his blessings to Mayor Ozumba’s leadership and second term aspiration.

The monarch affirmed the clarified rotation resolution of Dunukofia National Congress which allows Ukpo community for second term, adding that the community stands firmly behind Mayor Ozumba.

In her remark, ASTUC Women Leader of Ifitedunu, Mrs. Gloria Obi, praised the Mayor for prioritizing grassroots healthcare, women inclusion, and social welfare, noting that his administration has positively impacted households across Dunukofia through Traders Financial Support, Farmers Financial Support, Free ASHIA Enrolment, Free JAMB and other impactful initiatives.

Also lending his voice, the Secretary of APGA Dunukofia, Engr. Azubuike Okoye, described Mayor Ozumba as a bridge-builder whose leadership has strengthened party unity and delivered results beyond political boundaries. He stressed that no indigene of Ifitedunu is contesting the mayoral position, as the community has collectively agreed to support the incumbent based on merit and performance.

The APGA Ward 1 Chairman, Mr. Chidi Achukwu, alongside Akwa Ward APGA Chairman, Mr. Chinweze Clement, reaffirmed the party’s full support for the Mayor, emphasizing that the party rewards performance and loyalty to the people.

Representing the three Ward Councillors from Ifitedunu, Hon. Anthony Nnamdi Abeze applauded the Mayor’s effective collaboration with the legislative arm, while Hon. Ogoemeka, a financial stakeholder, described the ₦5 million donation as a voluntary appreciation of transparent governance and prudent resource management.

Responding, Chief Ozumba expressed gratitude for the endorsement and donation, promising not to disappoint the confidence of ndi Ifitedunu and entire Dunukofia LGA.
