The traditional ruler of Ndiokpalaeze, Igwe Fredrick Chidozie Okoli, Okwaeze IV of Ndiokpalaeze in conjunction with Okwaeze in-Council and Ndiokpalaeze Improvement Union (NIU), have unanimously conferred on the Executive Chairman of Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, Awka, Dr Vera Nkiru Nwadinobi with the Chieftaincy title of Ada Ugo Okwaeze of Ndiokpalaeze.
The prestigious title dated 26th December, 2025 according to the royal father of Ndiokpalaeze, Igwe Okoli was in recognition of her meritorious contributions to the development of humanity and educational development in Ndiokpalaeze in particular and Anambra State at large.
While decorating Dr. Nwadinobi with the Chieftaincy title at the ASUBEB Headquarters, Awka, Igwe Okoli who was accompanied by the traditional ruler of Umumbo, Igwe Simeon Ikechukwu Chidubem, the Mbo of Umumbo noted that Ndiokpalaeze had no public secondary school until recently when Dr. Nwadinobi facilitated the provision of a functional public secondary School in the town, furnished with standard learning resources and a conducive learning environment.
“We cannot talk about secondary education in Ndiokpalaeze today without mentioning Dr. Vera Nkiru Nwadinobi who ensured that a small community without influential personalities received her fair share of educational resources from the State government. This is the first time Ndiokpalaeze as a community is conferring a non indigene with a traditional chieftaincy title, hence Dr. Nwadinobi has become a Cabinet Chief of Ndiokpalaeze and a key stakeholder in the community development”, he announced.
Igwe Okoli prayed God to grant long life, good health and greater wisdom to Dr. Nwadinobi to continue to pilot the affairs of ASUBEB.
Responding, the ASUBEB Chairman, Dr. Nwadinobi expressed gratitude to Igwe Ndiokpalaeze for the honour which she described as unexpected, adding that it would serve as a source of motivation to do more in ensuring that education and learning are available for all children in Anambra State.
Dr. Nwadinobi noted that the State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR has shown uncommon interest in providing basic education for every child in Anambra State irrespective of the parents location or economic status, and has assured that he will make public schools in Anambra State the centre of learning.
She observed that the Governor’s approval for a public secondary school to be cited in Ndiokpalaeze which was implemented by ASUBEB was to ensure that no child in that community is left behind in accessing secondary education on graduation from primary six for any reason.

Decoration of the ASUBEB Chairman with her Chieftaincy regalia and presentation of certificate of conferment were the high points of the ceremony.
