Iheanacho Parts Ways with Sevilla After Mutual Termination of Deal

Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has had his contract terminated by Sevilla after making no appearances in the opening three La Liga matches—despite earning a hefty €60,192 per week, sources reveal.

Iheanacho joined Sevilla on a free transfer after a prolific spell at Leicester City. However, the Spanish club and the player mutually agreed to end the contract following his failure to make the matchday squad, even as he pocketed wages reported to be lower than his previous £80,000-per-week salary at Leicester.

The abrupt end of the deal has sparked discussions about the financial risks clubs take on marquee players and highlighted the sometimes brutal nature of modern football dynamics.
