A former governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, on Monday dismissed rumors that he plans to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting he will remain in the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).
Ortom, a member of the G-5 governors of the party that were to have worked against the party’s presidential candidate in last year’s election, Atiku Abubakar, made the remark at the PDP state stakeholders meeting in Makurdi.
He, however, stressed the need for the PDP to be united to overcome the defeat of 2023, adding that there was no need to apportion blame.
The Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, and another former governor of the state, Senator Gabriel Suwam, who were both at the meeting, also reiterated their commitment to the party.
