The Traditional Ruler of Ukwulu Kingdom in Dunukofia local government area, HRM Igwe Peter Aniukwu Uyanwa has urged ndi-Anambra to report suspicious activities around them to the appropriate authorities, and not be afraid to speak out against those who are trying to undermine the state.
Igwe Uyanwa made the disclosure while fielding questions from journalists in Awka. He urged the people to say something when they see something as part of support for the present administration, saying that running to the social media to talk does more harm than good.
The Monarch who observed that security is everybody’s business, pointed out that as the Chief Security Officer of Anambra State for barely one year, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has performed creditably well and should be supported by all.
He advised those fanning the embers of disharmony, discord and violence and hate speeches on a section of the media to retrace their steps and follow the right path.
The Ukwulu Monarch who recalled one or two skirmishes, noted that it doesn’t translate to describing Anambra as bad, security-wise.
While describing Anambra as one of the safest states in the country, Igwe Uyanwa advised well meaning ndị Anambra to heed the Governor’s call and bring a part of their investments home.
The Traditional Ruler gave assurances of support by the traditional institution and indeed, ndị Anambra, asked the Governor to remain focused to ensure that his plans and programs of a liveable and prosperous homeland is maximally achieved.
“The slogan of Soludo’s government is when you see something, say something, not when you see something, go to social media. Security is not one man’s business! It is everybody’s business,” he said.
“A few days ago, I saw rumors on social media spreading that areas in Awka such as Aroma, Unizik Flyover, CBN, Parktonia and others are unsafe! That is fake news from the enemies of government.
“Some disgruntled elements are also urging ndi Anambra residing in other states and the diaspora not to return home to invest. Let us work together to make our state liveable, prosperous and a destination hub. Onye Anambra who owns businesses outside of the state should bring a part of it home.
“I was initially based in Abuja, but since Governor Soludo assumed office, I have returned my investment to the state, which is now bearing dividends,” he said.
