Insecurity In Ihiala Is Hitting The Roof, Grant Us Amnesty – Agbodike Tells FG

..Most communities in Ihiala can no longer sleep with their two eyes closed

The Member Representing Ihiala Federal Constituency Rt. Hon. Pascal Agbodike has called on the federal govenment to intervene and treat Ihiala as a special local government that should be paid attention too especially on insecurity.

Agbodike while speaking to reporters in Awka on Sunday lamented stating that the level of insecurity in Ihiala local government is hitting the roof.

“Ihiala local government has a lot of youths with great potentials. If you allow youths with great potentials without employing them, there is every posibility that some of them may begain to use their knowledge in the negative form.

“Upon my emergence through the majority vote, i promised to make a case, to present their matter to federal government as the lawmaker representing Ihiala constituency.

“Ihiala is a local government which insecurity is prevailing. I volunteer myself to mediate and bring a lasting solution to the problem of insecurity in my local government and Anambra state.

” As a stakeholder, and a former deputy speaker of Anambra assembly and an eight years experience parlamenterian, i believe that there are things i can do. We cannot fold our arms and allow our people to go on exil .

“Most of the communities in my local government, have been deserted. It looks like a ghost community and no consideration from federal government. Most of those people have been rendered homeless.

“During the last election, INEC deployed their material for election in those areas but no body came out to excecise their franchise. We cannot allow that to continue. That is why i voluntee myself to profere a solution which will stand as a lasting one to solve that problem.

” One of the major challenges that is facing Nigeria youths today is the problem of unemployment. Let us employ educated youths. People with first degree and SSCE and even other lower qualifications.

” The federal government should pay a special attention to the people of Ihiala local government. Not by guns or deploying army but by dialogue. Through dialogue, we can solve the problem.

” Ihiala is not the first place such insecurity is happening in Nigeria. It happened in Niger Delta and federal government intervened through dialogue and amnesty and provided a lasting solution and in the Niger Delta. What happened in Niger Delta has not happened in Ihiala.

” Most of the communities in my local government can no longer sleep with their two eyes closed Including my own community. I am not calling on government to come with armination to begain to wipe out my people, No. I am calling on them to grant ndi Ihiala amnesty through creation of jobs.

” Give Ihiala fifty thousand job opportunities and all those things will be a thing of the past. Their is problem in my local government and the solution is dialogue. We can gradually solve the problem systematically.

“I pray to God to give me what it takes and the wisdom to serve my people at the national assembly so that the problem of insecurity will be a thing of the past. If i can do that to the people of my local government, what else will they want from me. If my people can sleep with their two eyes closed, am satisfied.

” The state government are doing their best and it is time for the federal government to intervene with many paletive measures to enumerate the suffering of our people. Many have been rendered homeless. They can no longer sleep. They are deserted their homes and communities. How long are we going to continue like this.

” Am calling on the president of the federal republic of Nigeria, the senate and house of representative to come to our aid through systematic ways and not by killing. My people are not known for violence .

Mr. Chuks Nwawuzie a stackholder from Okija while speaking expressed optimism that Rt. Hon. Pascal Agbodike will represent ndi Ihiala well at the green chambers.

” As he so-journ to Abuja, he should not forget home and where he is coming from. He needs to inact laws and move motions for a state of emergency. Government needs to come and look at the security situation. Government should dialogue with the boys, get them out of the bush and grant them amnesty. It is not something to be used force. If government kills everybody, who are they going to govern?

Barrister Akachukwu Mmaduakunam and National President of Ihiala Student
Association, Comrad Ibe Emmanuel in there seperate remarks urged Rt. Hon. Pascal Agbodike to deliver his campaign promises.

” He is more experienced now in legislative matters having served for eight years at the house of assembly. Soo we are expecting life changing bills and motions from him at the green chambers. We expect that Ihiala local government to become better”.
