Iran’s exiled Prince Reza Pahlavi on Tuesday voiced solidarity with Israel on the third anniversary of the October 7 attacks, declaring that a free Iran would be a “friend and partner” to the Jewish state.
“I stand with you in grief, remembrance and solidarity on the third anniversary of October 7,” Pahlavi wrote in a message addressed to the people of Israel. “We will never forget those murdered or the suffering of their families and the survivors.”
Accountability pledge
Pahlavi blamed the Islamic Republic for arming and backing Hamas, and said a future free Iran would hold those involved in the attacks to account.
“The Islamic Republic that armed and supported Hamas is the same regime that keeps Iranians in chains,” he said. “When Iran is free, we will hold all those involved in these crimes accountable. Both our peoples deserve freedom and security.”
Ancient ties
He also pointed to historical bonds between Iranians and Jews, tracing the relationship back 2,500 years to Cyrus the Great.
“A free Iran will be a friend and partner to Israel,” Pahlavi said. “Lasting peace and stability for both our peoples will only come with the fall of the Islamic Republic.”
