The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) on Monday dismissed concerns about the health of its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, insisting he is in good condition but requires adequate rest after a demanding schedule.
NDC Deputy Campaign Spokesperson Dr Sam Omale said Obi had become physically exhausted due to frequent travels and intense political activities.
Speaking in an interview on Channels Television, Omale explained that the former Anambra State governor often moves between multiple locations within short periods while handling numerous responsibilities.
He noted that Obi’s packed itinerary leaves him with little time to rest despite the energy he invests in his campaign.
“I sometimes wonder how Obi manages to keep up with his busy routine, considering the number of places he visits and the activities he handles daily,” Omale said.
The party maintained that the candidate remains fit for the demands of the 2027 presidential race, while emphasising the need for sufficient recovery time.
