Israel Claims Killing of Senior IRGC Intelligence Chief in Tehran Strike

Israel has announced the assassination of a high-ranking intelligence commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in a targeted strike on Tehran, the latest in a series of operations against Iranian leadership.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz confirmed the killing of the IRGC intelligence head, describing the operation as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle Iran’s military capabilities.

In a statement via it’s official X handle on Monday, the Israeli Air Force said the operation was conducted by the Israeli Air Force following what it described as actionable intelligence.

According to the statement, “guided by precise intelligence from Military Intelligence, the Air Force struck overnight in Tehran and eliminated Majid Khotam-Khasini Khademi – Head of the Intelligence Organization of the Revolutionary Guards.”

Khademi, described as a senior commander within Iran’s powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was said to have played a central role in the country’s intelligence and security operations.

The strike occurred amid the US-Israeli military campaign that began after the February 28 assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Detailing his activities, Israel alleged that Khademi played a significant role in intelligence gathering for Iran’s leadership.

“In the framework of his role, he acted to gather intelligence for compiling an intelligence picture for the regime’s senior echelons during Operation ‘Roar of the Lion,’” the statement said.

Israeli officials accused the slain commander of being deeply involved in hostile operations, stating that “Khademi was a key figure in the campaign; the intelligence he gathered was used to advance and execute terrorist acts.”
