Izuchukwu Centre trains Nimo Youths on Leadership

Izuchukwu Centre in collaboration with  Dshaikh and Ifeoma Izuchukwu Family Legacy Trust held a day training workshop for Nimo Youth leadership, Monday, February 19th 2024 at the Izuchukwu Centre, Nimo, Njikoka Local Government Area of ANAMBRA State.

 

The training programme, which was geared towards making the youth executive effective community leaders, covered such scopes as Self Awareness, Enhancing Community Leadership through effective communication, time management and conflict management, Roles and Responsibilities and Constitutional provisions, amongst other salient transformational leadership skills.

 

It was interactive and practical based with the attendees who numbered over 30 fully involved in the training process. 

 

In her welcome remark, the Manager of the Izuchukwu Centre, Chi explained that the centre “was designed to empower the brightest young minds in the rural underserved, under resourced communities and to enable them to rise above economic and social barriers so they can thrive and build sustainable communities around them.” 

 

“Our founder’s vision for the centre is to nurture the next generation of leaders, thinkers and change-makers and equip them to embark on a journey of empowerment, resilience, academic excellence and community building.”

 

She noted that the founders of the centre have presented such a knowledge-based resource to empower youths in the community for important leadership responsibilities in the community. 

 

She also thanked the workshop coordinator, Dr Ifeanyi OBIEFUNA for ensuring all were crossed in ensuring the workshop was a success. 

Among the trainers were Dr KK Osayi, the chief trainer, Barrister Chuks Okonkwo,  Comrade O’star Eze and Dr Ifeanyi OBIEFUNA who also took part in facilitating the training. There were also Honorable Osita Ezeh and Bishop Jerry Maduka who formed the support team. 

 

Sharing their impression of the training, the Nimo Youth Leader, Comrade Chidke  Okwaji described the experience as novel as well as impactful and thanked Dshaikh Foundation Confluence of Hope Charities ICAF International and Izuchukwu Centre for sponsoring the Leadership Training Program Series. Comrade Okwaji insisted that their administration will take a new turn in the light of the training. He further enjoined the youths to make themselves available as they move Nimo forward while applying all they learnt from the training. He also prayed that such trainings be conducted from time to time. 

 

In his vote of thanks, the VP 1, Nimo Town Development Union, NTDU, Honourable Chigbo Aniedobe expressed his profound gratitude to the organizers and facilitators of the workshop especially Dr Izuchukwu (Isimmili na Nimo). He noted that the workshop was quite valuable and enjoined the youths to grab such opportunities with both hands. 

 

“The progress of any community relies heavily on the youths. Let us protect the image and interest of the youths anywhere we find ourselves,” he said. 

 

High point of the event was the administration of certificate of attendance to the youths who were visibly transformed by the expansion of awareness the training gave them.
