Veteran actor Jide Kosoko and entertainers including Eniola Badmus have been listed among members of the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 elections.
The names were contained in the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate of the campaign council unveiled by the party’s Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre on Thursday.
Kosoko was listed as Co-Director of the directorate, while Badmus was named Deputy Director. Toke Benson-Awoyinka is listed as Director, with Akeem Alimi, popularly known as Ajala Jalingo, serving as Secretary.
Other entertainment figures on the list include veteran actors Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Fathia Balogun, Yinka Quadri and Bimbo Akintola.
Fuji musicians Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Abass Akande Obesere, Adewale Ayuba, Sulaimon Alao Adekunle, known as Malaika, Akorede Babatunde Okunola, popularly known as Osupa, and Temitope Adekunle, known as Small Doctor, were also listed.
However, actress Toyin Abraham has publicly rejected her reported inclusion in the campaign structure.
In an Instagram Story, Abraham said: “I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently. I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee.”
Her statement came after her name appeared alongside other prominent entertainers in the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.
The wider campaign council lists Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as chairman and Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as deputy chairman. The council is scheduled for formal inauguration on Friday, September 18, at the APC secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
The inclusion of prominent figures from Nollywood and the music industry places entertainers among the campaign structures being assembled ahead of the 2027 elections.
For Abraham, however, her public statement makes clear that she does not consider herself part of the council and has asked the public to disregard her reported inclusion.
