Nigeria’s former president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, His Eminence, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe and the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amechi and governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, are among prominent Nigerians that will be honoured in this year’s Second Zik Merit Award of Excellence in Leadership by the Igbo Nsuka United Front.
Other recipients included Chairman and Chief executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brigadier General Mohammed Marwa (rtd), Hajia Fatima Shinkafi, the Executive Secretary of Solid Minerals Development Fund, Hon Shaaban Ibrahim Sharada, Sir Chukwendu Udensi and former Minister of Women Affairs, Josephine Anenih.
The award ceremony to be chaired by the Etsu Nupe, with Vice President Prof Yemi Osibanjo as chief special guest of honour, was scheduled for Tuesday November 16.
According to a statement released in Abuja on Saturday, the Director General (DG), Igbo Nsuka United Front, Hon Chineme Onyeke, said the award was in recognition of outstanding and remarkable contributions of the recipients to Nigerians political economy and development.
