Cubana Chief Priest also suggested the timing of the incident carried political implications, claiming, “This was clearly done to embarrass our president on his birthday,” while urging security agencies to strengthen their response.
Socialite and businessman, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has reacted to the recent killings in Plateau State, expressing grief and frustration over the continued violence and security challenges in the country.
In a post shared on social media, he said disturbing footage of a woman and her child affected by the violence had remained on his mind. “In the past few days, the video of that woman & her child can’t get out of my head,” he wrote, asking, “When will this killing stop?”
He further questioned the motives behind the attacks, stating, “How do people desire happiness in killing one another… when will this ever stop?”, while calling attention to the broader human cost of the crisis.
The celebrity also raised concerns about leadership and security response, referencing reports of heightened protection for public officials. “The governor in Jos pulled up in a bunker… does it mean everyone should now pull up in bunkers because he is scared more than the people?” he said.
Emphasising the responsibilities of leadership, he added that those in authority must be willing to act decisively, noting, “To lead a state you have to be fearless… you have to have the ability to lay your life for the people.”
Cubana Chief Priest also suggested the timing of the incident carried political implications, claiming, “This was clearly done to embarrass our president on his birthday,” while urging security agencies to strengthen their response.
“Security agencies should brace up to their task,” he said, describing the situation as an “embarrassment” and calling for more effective protection of citizens.
He concluded with prayers for the victims, saying, “May the soul of all the faithful departed… rest in peace.”
The Plateau killings have sparked widespread reactions across Nigeria, with calls growing for stronger security measures and accountability as communities continue to grapple with recurring violence.
