The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the collation of results for the Anambra State governorship election.
Officials of the commission began the process in the early hours of Sunday at the INEC headquarters in Awka, the state capital.
The exercise started at about 2:10 a.m., with election observers, party agents, journalists, and other stakeholders present at the venue.
ANN earlier reported that Saturday’s election was generally described as peaceful, with voters across the state participating in the process.
A total of sixteen political parties took part in the contest, including the incumbent governor, Chukwuma Soludo, who is seeking re-election.
As of the time of filing this report, collation is still ongoing, and the final results are yet to be announced by INEC.
