The Kremlin has swiftly dismissed remarks made by President Donald Trump, who claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un were aligning in a secret “conspiracy” against the United States.
Russian Foreign Policy aide Yuri Ushakov called the allegations “baseless,” suggesting they may have even been made in jest. He was quoted saying: “No one has been conspiring, no one has been plotting anything… none of these three leaders had such a thought.”
Trump’s comments followed a striking military parade in Beijing—hosted by Xi to mark the 80th anniversary of World War II’s end—where Putin and Kim joined him in a show of solidarity. Bilder of the three leaders together ignited speculation that they were preparing an anti-U.S. alignment.
