While there are clubs who could afford to buy either one or both of the players, LaLiga president Javier Tebas believes that is only Real Madrid in Spain who could do so, given Barcelona’s current financial woes.
“Hopefully it will happen [that both players play in LaLiga] but these two players could only be at Real Madrid, because the economic situation of Barcelona would not allow them to access this type of player,” Tebas said on El Chiringuito.
The president was also hopeful that Barcelona would be able to successfully navigate its current predicament though he doesn’t believe it will happen in the short term.
“Neither this season nor the next,” Tebas added. “I see it as impossible.”
