… Balogun scored an hattrick in 20 minutes in a comeback win against Lorient which placed him as top scorer ahead of PSG’s Mbappé
Arsenal loanee, Folarin Balogun has now netted more Ligue 1 goals than Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) forwards Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe so far this season.
The England U21 striker was sent on loan to Reims at the start of the season in a bid to get some much needed first team minutes. And he has proven to be a huge star for the French side.
His side’s home match against Lorient began in disastrous fashion, with the visitors roaring into a two goal lead in the first half.
But Balogun’s hat-trick, along with Kamory Doumbia’s goal, secured a 4-2 comeback victory for the hosts.
Here are Ligue 1 top scorers so far after match-day 21 fixtures:
14 goals – Folarin Balogun (Reims)
13 goals – Kylian Mbappe (PSG)
12 goals – Neymar (PSG), Jonathan David (Lille), Alexandre Lacazette (Lyon), Wissam Ben Yedder (Monaco), Term Moffi (Lorient)
