Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has accepted a ₦10 million celebrity boxing challenge issued by show promoter Paulo Okoye to fight her rival, actress Iyabo Ojo.
Anjorin made the announcement via her Instagram page on Sunday, May 3, 2026, putting an end to speculation over whether she would take up the gauntlet first thrown by Paulo in 2024.
“As at today, 3rd May 2026, I accept your challenge,” she declared.
However, Anjorin attached fresh conditions to her acceptance. She demanded that Paulo Okoye and her husband, Chief Lawal, first square off in a 10-round non-stop boxing match, with her own bout against Iyabo Ojo scheduled for the following day.
The actress further escalated the long-running feud by challenging Paulo and Ojo to publicly present proof of their assets and achievements.
The development revives a bitter rivalry between Anjorin and Ojo that has played out on social media, in police stations and in the courts for several years. In 2025, Ojo filed a ₦1 billion defamation suit against Anjorin, which was later struck out on procedural grounds.
Anjorin’s acceptance aligns with the rising trend of celebrity boxing matches in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, following high-profile bouts such as the recent clash between Portable and Carter Efe in Lagos.
Paulo Okoye is yet to respond publicly to the conditions set by Anjorin.
The proposed fight has already generated significant buzz on social media, with many fans calling for the bout to be organised as a major entertainment event.
