Stakeholders have commended the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo on his move to regenerate the city of Awka to accelerate the economic growth and development of the State through job and wealth creation by providing good roads.
The stakeholders spoke during the demolition of illegal structures obstructing road construction at the popular Unizik/Okpuno road by the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority.
Speaking during the exercise, The Community Liaison Officer to Nigercat Construction Company, Prince Ekene Obidinma commended the governor for always standing out in the aspect of road construction and infrastructural development of the State.
He said that his community is very happy with the new development because it shows that the governor is working and it also offers his community the opportunity to enjoy the capital. For this, we are solidly behind the good policies of the present administration, he said.
He emphasized the need to decongest the road to create room for more expansion as okpuno, urum and mbakwu community continue to expand in both human and commercial activities.
According to him, this will help tackle the challenge of incessant traffic gridlock experienced along the axis.
He advised Ndi Anambra to continue to support Prof Soludo led administration with prayers and goodwill.
In his remarks, The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, Mr Ossy Onuko, stated that the road when completed will not ease the peace and safety of people and motorist but also contribute to the beautification of the state.
