Singer Peter Okoye broke down in tears while recounting how his brothers allegedly pressured his then-girlfriend to terminate her pregnancy when he was 27.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, the former P-Square member said he publicly announced Lola’s pregnancy himself at the Soundcity Awards to prevent the news from leaking elsewhere.
“When I was 27 years old, my girlfriend then, Lola, became pregnant. I didn’t want the news to break from someone else, so I decided to announce it myself. Because then there was too many baby mama of so so celebrity and I didn’t want that to happen to me,” Okoye said.
He explained that after receiving an award with the group, he dedicated it to God, their fans and finally “the mother of my unborn child.”
“Immediately after that, Jude and Paul walked out, saying my announcement would ruin our career,” he continued.
“They insisted that Lola should abort the baby. They even forged an email to frame her, claiming the child wasn’t mine and accusing her of using the pregnancy to trap me.”
Okoye described the episode as one of the defining moments of his life and career. The couple later married and have children together.
