NAWOJ Visits Anambra CP, Re-solidify Partnership To Reduce Violence

Members of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, South East Zone has paid a familiarization visit to the Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye in his office at the command headquarters in Amawbia.

NAWOJ, is an umbrella body for all practicing female journalists in Nigeria and an affiliate body of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, with the aim to advocate for the development of women in all fields and to protect the rights of the girl child, the weak and the vulnerable in society.

The Vice President of NAWOJ, South East Zone, Comrade Stella Igboka while speaking revealed that the objectives of the association aligns with the crime-fighting drives of the Nigeria Police Force, such as protecting child and women rights among others and expressed optimism that with the partnership, crime fighting under Commissioner Adeoye will receive renewed boost, vigor, and drive to achieve a secured state, where peace, law, and order are maintained. 

According to Comrade Igboka, when achieved this  would support the efforts of the government towards growth and development in business, commercial, and recreational activities in the state.

She pointed out that  the collaboration will not only aid crime fighting but will also promote and projecte activities and operations of the command to every nooks and crannies of the state.

Responding, Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aderemi Adeoye applauded NAWOJ for their contributions to nation building by moulding public opinions, managing public perception and disseminating government policies and programmes and assured them that the command is ever ready to partner them to achieve a common goal for the betterment of the citizenry.

The police commissioner charged the association to remain committed to the vision and mission of the association to the voiceless, restated the commitment of the command with NAWOJ.
