Ned Nwoko Appeals For “Breathing Space” for Regina, Warns of Legal Action Over Fake Death Reports

Senator Ned Nwoko has appealed to the public to give his estranged wife, Regina Daniels room to recover from health challenges. He warned that those spreading fabricated reports about her, including false death announcements, would be held legally accountable.

In a statement, Nwoko urged her fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators to show restraint, saying the appeal was for her sake and for her children’s.

“Not a time to judge or vilify”

“I make this appeal not just for her sake, but also for the sake of the kids, who are very well cared for and deserve to see their mother supported, loved and given every opportunity to get better,” he said.

Nwoko said Regina had endured more than many people realised. He pointed to a video she shared on her birthday, which he said gave people a glimpse of some of her health challenges.

“This is not a time to judge, vilify or add to her burdens. It is a time to show compassion and allow her the opportunity to heal,” he said. “Regardless of the difficulties we have faced, her well-being has always mattered to me. It is, in fact, the very concern that brought much of our private situation into the public domain.”

Fake death reports

Nwoko said he was particularly concerned about false and disturbing stories circulating about her, including fabricated death announcements. He said Regina sees many of the posts and finds them deeply distressing.

“These things are not harmless social media engagement,” he said. “They do nothing to support her recovery, rather, they add to the burden she is already carrying.”

He urged her fans to discourage the behaviour instead of amplifying it.

“That limit has been reached”

“Let me make this very clear: I will not tolerate the deliberate spread of false information about Regina, particularly fabricated reports about her death, health or personal circumstances,” he said.

Nwoko said those “hiding behind social media accounts to invent stories, mislead the public and exploit her situation for clicks and engagement should stop immediately.”

“We are documenting these publications, and anyone found responsible will be held accountable through the appropriate legal channels. There is a limit to what should be tolerated, and that limit has been reached,” he said.
