NEROS Pharmaceuticals Anambra FA Cup, Kick-off March 14

The much anticipated 2024 NEROS Pharmaceuticals Anambra FA Cup draws has been made as 10 teams will size each other for the ultimate prize.

The competition will kickoff on Thursday 14th of March 2024 with an opening match between BON FA and Young Africans at the Awka City stadium by 3pm.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that NEROS pharmaceutical is the longest running sponsor of state FA cup competition in Nigeria having sponsored Anambra FA Cup for nearly 20 years.

Out of the 10 teams, 4 were seeded because of league status.

Speaking after the draws, the sponsor of the tournament, Professor Poly Emenike, the CEO of NEROS Pharmaceuticals ably represented by Sir Victor Nwangwu thanked the registered teams for their perseverance especially in this moment of serious economic hardship in the country.

Nwangwu emphasized the sponsors readiness in investing in youth development through football. The former Anambra FA secretary registered his dissatisfaction on the small number of teams that registered as he called on NFF to make the Federation cup pocket friendly especially for grassroot teams. 

The Anambra FA Chairman Gen Chikelue Iloenyosi represented by the Secretary Mr Ralph Nweke who conducted the draws, appreciated the sponsors of the tournament for yet another show of faith in football development in the state.

Chikelue equally thanked the registered teams for coming. He emphasized the need for sporting fairness and he encouraged all to play by the rules. He outlined the FA’s readiness to cond

The Team Manager of Edel FC Fancy Ewulu on behalf of the registered teams thanked the Sponsor and the state FA for the opportunity for the registered teams to compete. He pledged on behalf of the 10 teams that the competition will be an extraordinary one. 

The first match will see BON FA take on Young Africans for a place in the Quarterfinals against Ozalla FA while the second game will see Remmy Uche battling African Oh for the right to take on Peace FC in the Quarterfinals.

Other confirmed quarterfinals fixtures includes Black Smithers vs Solution FC and Hopeland vs Edel FC.

The winner of this year’s competition goes home with 2,000,000 naira while runner-up gets 1,000,000 naira with both teams representing the state at National level of the competition. The third place team will get #500,000 while the 4th position goes home with #100,000.
