Paul Preece Jr., a winner of Netflix’s survival reality show “Outlast,” has been arrested in Tennessee on charges including child rape and aggravated sexual battery, authorities said.
The 51-year-old was taken into custody Friday in Seymour by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and is being held at the county jail on a $150,000 bond, according to booking records.
He also faces a count of attempted rape of a child, with conditions for any potential release including electronic GPS monitoring.
No details about the alleged offenses, the victim or victims, or the circumstances have been disclosed to safeguard privacy, and a pre-trial hearing has yet to be scheduled.
Preece, who appeared on the 2023 season of “Outlast” set in Alaska’s wilderness, shared a $1 million prize with two teammates after enduring extreme conditions in the competition.
The charges starkly contrast his televised image as a tough outdoorsman, though he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Neither the sheriff’s office nor the district attorney’s office have provided further comment beyond the arrest details.
