* Anambra State Governor’s wife, Nonye Soludo, says theongoing cervical cancer screening and treatment exercises in the state, offer every Anambra Woman a chance to life. Mrs. Soludo, who stated this in Awka, noted that her continued advocacy for women in the state to get involved in the ongoing exercise, is driven by a burning desire to ensure that each of them is safe from the disease, rated as fourth commonest cancer among women.
* HRH Eze, DR.M.C.Ngene, Eze Ugonwanne (Ezeike IV of Nibo) has commended the candidate of Labour Party for the Federal House of Representatives Awka North and South Prof. Oby Lilian Orogbu on her selflessness and contributions. He went further to wish her well in her quest to represent the good people of Awka North and South Federal Constituency in the Green chambers. He also prayed and gave her his royal blessings.
* People of Ozubulu community in Ekwusigo Local Government Area have thrown their weight behind the political ambition of the immediate past Anambra State Commissioner for Social Welfare, Children and Women Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue. The people showed their unalloyed support to Lady Mezue, who is the Labour Party House of Assembly candidate for Ekwusigo Constituency in the forthcoming general elections, at a welcome party organized in her honour by her village, Ezenwelike-Eziora village Ozubulu.
*Â The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, has visited the family of late Igbo leader, Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu as part of his ongoing nationwide consultation. Obi, former Anambra Governor, was received at the residence of the renowned Igbo leader by his widow, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, on Saturday.
He said that it was important for him to visit every leader in the country for their blessing and support, since he needed everybody to clearly understand his good intentions for the nation.
* Igboukwu Community in Aguata Local Government Area, has celebrated its 2022 maiden cultural day. The event held at Igboukwu Central School was aimed at refining, developing and marketing Igboukwu culture to the outside world.Â
The occassion organized by Igboukwu Development Union, featured cultural displays as different masquerades, including , Ajofia Igboukwu, and Ofoigbo while Igboukwu Development Union, women’s wing and Umuada Igboukwu also entertained the audience with cultural dances.
* APGA House of Representatives candidate for Oyi/Ayamelum federal constituency, Lady Maureen Gwacham attended the maiden edition of Ogbunike Widows Alert empowerment programme at Azu village, Ogbunike. Gwacham was received by the convener/sponsor of Ogbunike Widows Alert Scheme, High Chief Dr Chuma Harris (Ogbuefi Ogene N’Ara Onu) was described as an epitome of humanity and encyclopedia of wisdom, promising to support the divine political project.
* Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has expressed sadness over the passage of President-General of Ohanézè NdÃgbo Worldwide Professor George Obiozor. Reflecting on the life and times of the late leader of Ndigbo Apex group, Governor Soludo said Prof George Obiozor was a great diplomat and a solid intellectual in the diplomatic circles
* The candidate of Labour Party for the Federal House of Representatives Awka North and South Prof. Oby Lilian Orogbu joined the Umuoda Women Assembly on their award giving day and launching of 2023 Calendar.
It was indeed a great event to be behold! In her speech, Orogbu emphasized the need for us to support and vote for the right candidates come 2023 general election because we are voting our future and that of our children.
* Over one thousand people, both indigenes and non-indigenes of Amawbia, have benefitted from free eye screening and treatment organised by Mayors club Amawbia. Beneficiaries of the two-day free eye treatment that took place at Amawbia town hall, Eziokpalaigwe Amawbia, were both male and female, the aged and youths alike.
