NGO Donates Medical Equipment Worth Over N30 Million In Anambra

Anambra State Women Association of Southern California, United States of America, a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) has donated medical equipment worth over N30 million to six local government areas in the state.

Angel Network News (ANN) gathered that
the items donated to each of the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in the six local government areas in Anambra are hospital beds, delivery couges, and strips among numerous others,

Speaking while delivering the equipment at Edorji Primary Health Centre in Nnewi North Local Government Area, the President of the association, Mrs. Nne-Nne Bosah explained that the donation is to enhance the operational capacity of the primary health care centres in the rural areas through self-help, as they did not receive any Kobo from any arm of government.

Mrs. Bosah who pointed out that its equally part of their community development programme, revealed that they gave out medical equipment to four local government areas last year but that they have increased to six, as they want to support the government and communities by improving the primary healthcare sector which is the closest to the people living in rural areas.

The Executive Secretary, Anambra State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Pharmacist Chisom Uchem commended the association for their benevolence, adding that Governor Chukwuma Soludo is appreciative of their good gesture as it’s in line with his Aku Luo Uno call, and made it clear that the Governor has equally done a lot in the health sector, including the free antenatal and delivery services which is unprecedented in Nigeria.

Chief Godwin Ndubuizu, who is the Obi of Edorji, said they are delighted by the gesture, praying God to bless them immensely.
