Ezinano Community has announced a
ten million naira (₦10m) bounty for information leading to the capture of the perpetrators of Nibo massacre.

Angel Network News (ANN) recall that many lives were lost recently during the Onwa Asaa festival in Nibo, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, a tragic incident that shocked the region, sparked widespread outrage and calls for justice.

Ezinano, sharing affinity with Nibo, was particularly affected, having lost some of its residents in the violence.

Community leader Ozo Chief Jeff Nweke made the bounty announcement during the Second Edition of Ezinano Day, a celebration of the community’s culture and heritage.
Chief Nweke declared war on cultism in Ezinano and surrounding areas, vowing to avenge future deaths.

“We will not rest until justice is served. Ezinano Community will not tolerate violence or cultism. We urge anyone with information to come forward and help bring the perpetrators to justice.”

In addition to the bounty, Chief Nweke unveiled a ₦100m empowerment fund for local women, initially launching with ₦50m.

The fund aims to support women-led initiatives and promote economic development in the area.
“The empowerment programme is part of our commitment to building a prosperous and peaceful community. We believe that empowering women is key to unlocking our community’s potential.”

Meanwhile, Chief Jeff Nweke hinted that he would hand over the mantle of Ezinano community leadership to another person before the end of December, 2024.
