The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim has been honoured with an award of excellence by the Scout Council.
Presenting the award to Dr. Ibezim on behalf of the Nigeria Scout Council, Prince Levi Ezeudogu said the award was given to the Deputy Governor in recognition of his support.
Ezeudogu expressed delight over the second position gotten by Anambra state during the competition and expressed optimism of taking the first position next year.
In his speech, the State Commissioner of the council Hon. Samuel Ofuonye, stated that the recognition acknowledges Dr. Ibezim’s selfless contributions to the betterment of the society.
Ofuonye added that Dr. Ibezim has demonstrated unwavering commitment to the organization’s ideals, inspired young people to embrace the values of scouting and has done selfless services. Stressing that his humanitarian efforts have positively impacted lives, making him a deserving recipient of the award.
On receiving the award, the President, Anambra State Scout Council, and the Deputy Governor of Anambra State Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim dedicates the award to God almighty, the State Governor Prof. Soludo and the good people of Anambra State. He stated that the award will surely spur him for more work.
In his vote of thanks, the Executive Assistant to the state governor on legislature and member of the council, Hon. Eze Echieteka appreciates the Deputy Governor’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of the Scout Council stressing that his selfless services and leadership prowess demonstrated by the Deputy Governor have made a significant difference in the lives of many, as this award is a testament to his humanitarian endeavours.
