Nimo Elect ‘Engr. Dan Anakpe’ As President-General

Nimo community in Njikoka Local Government Council Area of Anambra State have elected Engineer Dan Zeelunjo Anakpe as the new President General.

Angel Network News reports that Engr. Anakpe got 447 votes to emerge as the new President-General.

Chief Emeka Asimonye got 186 votes, Barr. Nnamdi Odike got 7 votes, Hon. Emmanuel Nkwonta 12 votes and Ojidembuba 1 votes.

The position of National Publicity Secretary; Arc Chuks Ikewelugo got 27 votes, Hon Chukwuma Omile got 531 votes, While Engr. Chekwube Mmagu got 56 votes.

The process which lasted for hours saw a long list of candidates vying for various posts at the election held at Egwegwe.

The crowds gathered to cheer the new President General Engr. Dan Zeelunjo Anakpe whose first message was one of peace, unity and inclusiveness.

Anakpe while speaking expressed gratitude to ndi Nimo, the electoral panel and other candidates for participating in the democratic process, promising to work hard to meet the enormous expectations and tackle the challenges confronting the community and also bring change and prosperity.

The newly elected PG voiced his hopes that his administration will deliver on its promises of progress and development for all, adding that the new leadership now has a critical task which is to provide the much-needed leadership to take the community to a greater heights.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr. Tony-Collins Nawbunwanne while addressing the voters commended the contestants for their spirit of sportsmanship stating that the success of the election is a win for Ndi Nimo.

Nawbunwanne maintained that the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo is all out to ensure success and progress of Nimo community which will be in the interest of government and for peace and progress to reign in all Anambra communities. He tasked the new executive to be focused and work for the good of all

Engr. Nnaemeka Oraka in an exclusive interview with Angel Network News urged the newly elected executive to hit the ground running and to also do everything in their powers to deliver there campaign promises.

On his part, Engr. Emeka Anike in an interview commended Anambra state government for making sure that the election was free, fair and credible.

Anike revealed that ndi Nimo are ready to rally behind the newly elected President-General as the community enters a new dawn of their future.

Anike urged the newly elected officers to carry everyone along and do their best through maximizing the potentials of the community through tackling the issues of impunity and distrust. He called on them to reach out to aggrieved members of the community.

For a stakeholder in the community, Barrister Chuks Okonkwo on his part called on ndi Nimo to join hands and support the newly elected excos of the community. He prayed for sustainable peace and development in Nimo.
