The local government Chairman of Njikoka, Barr. Chinedu Ononiba has sympathized with affected families of afor Nawfia attack.
The Mayor together with the President General of Nawfia, Chief Daniel Okoye,
paid a condolence visit following the violent attack that occurred on the evening of Sunday, December 7, 2025.
Barr. Ononiba while while sympathizing with affected families, condemned the senseless act of violence and assured the people of Nawfia that the government will work closely with security agencies to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.
The local government boss also called for calm and vigilance, urging residents to cooperate with authorities as investigations continue.
During the burial of 42-year-old Mr. Anayo Okeke Oguno, a member of Ugogbuzuo Age Grade, Nawfia, who was tragically shot dead at Afor Nawfia Junction, the Mayor of Njikoka Local Government Area, Barr. Chinedu Dominic Ononiba, made a firm declaration.
Deeply moved by the loss, the Mayor announced a ₦5,000,000 (five million naira) bounty for any individual with credible information that will lead to the arrest of the killers responsible for the heinous act.
Barr. Ononiba described the murder as a cowardly and senseless act of violence that must not go unpunished. He assured the grieving family and the entire Nawfia community that the local government, in collaboration with security agencies and the state government is doing everything possible to ensure justice is served.
He also urged residents to remain calm but vigilant and report any suspicious activity that could help expose the perpetrators.
