NPFL: Enugu Rangers Defeat Niger Tornadors In Awka

Enugu Rangers are back to winning ways with a 2:1 win over Niger Tornadors at the Awka City Stadium on Sunday.

The Coal City outfit, coached by Fidelis Ilechukwu who dominated the game, got their second win of the season with the first goal in the 17th minutes through Joel Odoh before Godwin Obaje scored the second goal at 43rd minutes while Usman got the consolation goal for Niger Tornadors at the 54th minutes.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Coach Hamza Abarah of Niger Tornadors said it was a very bad day for them.

” We came here for a mission and it was not accomplished. The players played according to instructions but unfortunately for us, we considered early goal.

” I haved worked with Rangers Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu and he knows my style of play and i understand his tactics also thats why the game was balanced”. Coach Abarah stated.

Enugu Rangers assistant coach in an interview said the team will work on their mistakes ahead of their next game.

“Niger Tornadors is not a small team and from the last five games with them, we draw three. Our players played according to the game plan thats why we got the three points and we will be focusing on our next game”. Coach Obinna said

Enugu Rangers next game will be against Kwara United on 22rd of October while their next home game will be against Kano Pillars at the Awka City Stadium on the October 29th.
