NSCDC Boss Seeks Collaboration With Innoson In Tackling Insecurity

The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Anambra State, Maku Olatunde, says the Corps will continue to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to promote peace and security in the state.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that the Commandant Maku said this on Friday while on a supervisory visit to Area E-Command Headquarters Nnewi, as part of his ongoing efforts to engage with officers, men, and key stakeholders at the grassroots level to explore potential collaboration opportunities.

The State Commandant, accompanied by Deputy Commandant of Corps; Prominence Ukaobi, the command 2ic, and other senior officers, charged officers and men in Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Ekwusigo, and Ihiala Divisional office respectfully to intensify their efforts in protecting critical national, state, and local government assets, while adhering to the rule of law and standard operating procedures.

Comdt. Maku, an operations expert, conducted a thorough inspection of officers and men stationed at strategic locations across the four Local Government Areas, assessing their effectiveness and providing additional directives to ensure maximum security for Anambra citizens and residents.

Meanwhile, the visit took the State Commandant and his entourage to the Chairman of Innoson Vehicles, Chief Dr Innocent Chukwuma to discuss strategies for making Nnewi and Anambra State at large one of the most secure states in Nigeria.

Maku outlined the core mandates of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), which encompass providing protection for government critical national state and local government assets, regulating private security guards, responding to disasters, resolving farmer-herder conflicts, implementing the Safe School Project, and safeguarding solid minerals, emphasizing that achieving these goals requires collaboration with key stakeholders.

The NSCDC State helmsman noted that security of assets and people’s lives remain the top priority of officers and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State Command.

He promised that the Command under his watch will do everything within its Constitutional powers to stop looting, vandalism of critical assets and infrastructure and destruction of utilities provided by the government for the comfortability of the masses and public consumption amongst others.

Chief Innocent Chukwuma delighted to receive the State Commandant said the NSCDC has become a pride of the state in view of its commitment to protecting lives and property of Nigeria citizens.

Chukwuma acknowledged the outstanding performance and invaluable contributions of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in maintaining security and peace in Anambra State, urging them to continue their excellent work.

The Chairman of Innoson Vehicles, pledged to collaborate with and support the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in areas where assistance is needed.
