NSCDC, DCC Collaboration For Enhanced Synergy In Anambra

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Department of State Services, (DS, in Anambra State have resolved to enhance intelligence sharing, strengthen inter-agency collaboration, and ensure the safety and security of lives and property in Anambra.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
this resolution was reached when the newly deployed State Director of Security, DSS, Anambra State, Chuks Anukposi mni, paid a courtesy visit to Commandant Maku Olatunde, the State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence, Anambra State Command, on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the State Command Headquarters, Awka.

The State Director of Security (DSS) notified the State Commandant that he recently assumed office and was on a familiarization visit aimed at strengthening and deepening existing relationships between the NSCDC and DSS.

“I am here to familiarize myself with your office; it’s a privilege receiving us. We know that security is everybody’s business. To succeed as the new director of security, I deemed it necessary to meet with stakeholders on the ground before me. It is crucial that we share ideas and work together as a team if we are to tackle the growing security issues in the state,”

“We have been collaborating in the past; we need to continue to do that as no institution or organisation can do it all alone. Collaboration is one of our core values as an organisation, and it is key in tackling the emerging security challenges facing us” he stressed.

Responding, Commandant Maku congratulated the State Director of Security on his posting and warmly welcomed him to Anambra. He reiterated the NSCDC’s disposition to working closely with the DSS and sister security agencies in the delivery of the Corps’ mandates of protecting Critical National, State, and Local Government Assets and infrastructure.

He acknowledged the vital role of the DSS in providing actionable intelligence, which has significantly contributed to the Corps’ efforts in combating insecurity in the state.

“We have had a very good relationship with the DSS. You have been a great and strategic partner to us through sharing of intelligence, so we can confidently say you have been a strong ally to us “he said.

The visit, which had in attendance very senior officers of both agencies, ended with an exchange of souvenirs and group photographs.
