NTDU Executive Holds A Day Leadership Training

In her verge to give Nimo Development Union effective and quality leadership and put her on the map in community development, the newly elected executive members of Nimo Town Development Union, NTDU, recently subjected itself to a day intensive leadership training in its Secretariat.

The coordinator of the training who is also an illustrious son of the soil, Dr Ifeanyi Obiefuna, in his introduction of the training and its facilitators, extolled the Engr Zeelunjo administration for not leaving any stone unturned in its effort to give Nimo the best of leadership. He noted that training and retraining are activities that every Organisation intentional about its rapid progress, provides for its officers from time to time.

“All banks, the civil service system and in fact, every organisation that is intentional about its systematic development makes sure those saddled with responsibilities undergo compulsory training and retraining. This is one of the ways they ensure optimal service delivery.”

He thanked the President General, Engr Zeelunjo, his Public Relations Officer and indeed all members of the executive not forgetting the sponsor of the training, for the initiative and encouraged them not the relent in their effort to provide Nimo with the best leadership it can given the circumstances.

Dr Obiefuna also availed the opportunity to reiterate that without passion, one cannot make an effective community leader and enjoined any member of the executive who lacked passion for service to kindly resign the job so as not to be a clog in the wheel for the executive.

During his session, the chief trainer Who is also an Associate Professor of Social Work and Correctional Studies at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Dr K K Ossai, took the trainees on how to achieve effective leadership through conscious self awareness, the concept of leadership as well as the importance of building a formidable team for achieving purposeful community service delivery.

On his part, Comrade Osita Eze, a trained educationist and certified peace educator engaged the members of NTDU executive on how to enhance community leadership via effective communication, time management, conflict management and financial management while Dr Obiefuna explored the specific roles and responsibilities of the various offices that make up the NTDU executive.

In his vote of thanks, the NTDU President General, Engr Dan Zeelunjo extolled the priceless nature of the training. He thanked the training team for the seasoned sessions that it gave his members and prayed for follow up refresher materials to aid them in regurgitating all that had been taught.

Engr Dan restated his administration’s resolve to provide Nimo with quality community leadership and change her narrative for the better against all odds.
