The Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ in Partnership With Anambra Patriots for Soludo, has organized a training workshop for Journalists on election coverage and maintaining the ethics of the profession.

Dr. Odogwu Emeka Odogwu in his remark, emphasized that the training is to help Journalists brush up on the ethics of the profession, knowing what is expected of them and how to act at each given time, appreciating the Patriots for supporting the workshop through sponsorship.
In his keynote address, the Managing Director, of Anambra State Bureau of Public Procurement, Architect Okey Ezeobi, noted that Journalists shape public opinion in diverse ways and are expected to stand for truth at all times.
Dr Moses Ugbo whose paper centred on ‘Election Process and Role of Journalists’ explained that Journalists are key stakeholders in election coverage and reportage, saying that Journalists must always report timely and accurate information.
In his presentation, Sir. Victor Agusiobo, whose paper centred on Physical Safety and Risk Assessment for Journalists, advised that journalists must be mindful of their safety while being able to report conflicts objectively without inflating numbers or distorting the details, harping that Journalists must stick to ethics.
In their separate remarks, the Chairman of Anambra Patriot for Soludo, Chief Ejiamatu Enekwechi, and the Organizing Chairman of the Workshop, Ukpa Ewa, pointed out that the workshop is necessary and important and would help Journalist to better perform their duties amidst challenges.

Jude Akpua PhD, amongst others
