Members of the Awka South II Constituency of Labour Party (Obizi obedient family) Community play host the homecoming of their illustrious son, Hon Ikenna Azom’Chine in Awka.
The community which includes; Amawbia, Nibo, Umuawulu, Mbaukwu converge at Nibo to appreciate members for their contributions at the just concluded 2023 poll and also to welcome their illustrious son, “The Obedient General” after a long political journey.
In a welcome address, the Awka South II constituency labour party chairman, Hon Alex Okoyeugha rolled out words of appreciation to members for their to the contribution to the success of their outing in the just concluded election, stating that the efforts of Chief Ikenna can not be overemphasized at the presidential election.
He expressed his satisfaction with the victory recorded in the just concluded election at the state level. With the emergence of Senator Victor Umeh at the red chambers and Prof. Lilian Orogbu at the green chambers, we are hopeful that Obizi will be well represented at the federal level, he said.
Also Speaking at the event, Hon. Ikenna Azom’Chine Stated that his passion and desire to participate in the process of restoring the working status of the country for the common good of all gave rise to the obedient movement. He added that, through their prayers and the support of the obedient family in diaspora, his team had worked tremendously in so many spheres to see to the emergence of Mr. Peter Obi as the next president of the country.
He however commended the sacrifice of ward leaders in the various communities, stating that their efforts will not be in vain.
While appreciating the members, he urged them to stay ready to repeat same resilience in any forthcoming electioneering process and pray that God grant their heart desires in restoring the mandate of Mr. Obi.

According to the host and labour party campaign coordinator for Awka South II constituency, Prince Anayo Nnama, the personality and capacity of Chief Ikenna Azom’Chine is second to none, ascribing the extra ordinary spread and acceptance of the candidacy of Mr. Peter Obi and labour party in most part of the north as part of his brave effort.
I will see to the fact that what is due and right for every member of this constituency is secured, he said.
Chief J. C Okeke who contested for Awka South II constituency in the State House of Assembly election under labour ceased the opportunity to thanked the Obizi community for their individual support and vote during the election.
He promised to continue in his efforts to campaign and work for true representation and defense for justice despite the defeat at the March 18 poll.
In their separate remarks, the coordinator for labour party in Mbaukwu, Chief Pius Okeke and another stakeholders of the party, Nze Chike Eze equally expressed their satisfaction with the warm reception and celebration, noting that hosting a remarkable event like this to appreciate those who contributed to the success of the party in the constituency is necessary.
Expressing their optimism on the recovery of Mr. Obi’s mandate, they extolled accolades on the agility and coordination of Hon Ikenna in success delivery, stating that he contributed immensely to the victory of the party in their constituency.
