Odumodublvck Claims Some Artistes Turn to “Jazz” in Search of Hit Songs

Rapper Odumodublvck has alleged that some artistes in the country’s music industry resort to traditional spiritual practices, commonly referred to as “jazz” or voodoo, in an effort to secure hit songs.

The rapper, whose real name is Tochukwu Ojogwu, made the remarks during an appearance on the Tea With Tay podcast, where he discussed the challenges of achieving commercial success in the competitive Nigerian music scene.

“Getting a hit song is not easy. Sometimes people even do jazz to get one. That is why you see some artists crashing out when they struggle to get a hit,” Odumodublvck said.

He contrasted this with the sustained success of some of the industry’s biggest stars.

“Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido have been dropping hit songs consistently for years. You have to respect that. Some artistes never get a hit song throughout their careers,” he added.

Odumodublvck’s comments highlight the intense pressure many musicians face in an industry where commercial breakthroughs can be elusive, even for talented artists.
