Odumodublvck Urges NYSC to End Posting of Corps Members Over Insecurity

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has called on the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to halt the long-standing practice of deploying corps members to states other than where they reside, citing rising insecurity and the emotional toll on families.

In a post shared on his verified social media account, the artiste appealed directly to the NYSC management, writing: “Please, it’s high time we suspend the posting of our youths to different states other than where they are based.”

He argued that while the NYSC scheme was founded on noble intentions, Nigeria’s current security landscape makes the model unsafe. “It all started off as a brilliant idea but now with the state of our country, it’s not sustainable,” he said.

Odumodublvck urged authorities to consider the safety of young graduates and the concerns of their families. “Please pity the parents. Kids are d—g,” he wrote, referencing recent incidents involving corps members harmed or killed during service.

The rapper ended his appeal with a call for policy reform, saying the nation must “move with the times.”
