Ogbaru Constituents Endorse Anambra Assembly Speaker ‘Udeze’ For Re-election

The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has been urged to recontest for his seat.

The endorsement came from the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) faithful in Atani, Ogbaru Local Government Area, during an executive and stakeholders’ meeting.

The stakeholders maintained that Udeze who is the lawmaker representing Ogbaru Two Constituency has performed well and delivered projects that benefit the people.

They praised the Speaker’s work, noting clear development and steady progress across different communities in Ogbaru during his time in office.

The Chairman of Akili Ozizor Ward and representative of the ten ward chairmen in Ogbaru, Mr. Tochukwu Odukwe, made the call for Udeze’s return

Odukwe maintained that the Speaker has done well in bringing development to the area and should be given another term.

Other political and community leaders, including the Coordinator of Women PGs in Ogbaru, Lady Ezenwa Appolonia; Honourable Paschal Aniegbuna; and the APGA Local Government Area Chairman in Ogbaru, also supported the call and praised the Speaker, saying his leadership has brought real growth and visible development to the area, while adding that such progress is a shared responsibility that requires collective effort to build a better future.

In his response, Udeze, accepted the call to contest again, stating that the support from his people and the need to sustain development influenced his decision.

The Speaker said the state has remained stable over the past three years, and that this stability has facilitated development in Ogbaru through cooperation with the state government.

Rt. Hon. Udeze noted that more young people will be included in government programmes, and that Ogbaru will continue to benefit from state development projects, while also promising to keep supporting vulnerable groups and youths, with a focus on life-improving projects.

He stated that some of his achievements in Ogbaru include improvements in the education sector, where over 100 teachers have been engaged to strengthen learning across schools in the area, alongside interventions in the health sector through the state government.

He further pointed to major infrastructure development, including the attraction of the first interlocking pavement road construction in parts of Ogbaru by the state government, as well as efforts in agriculture aimed at supporting farmers, improving food production, and strengthening rural livelihoods in the area.

He said that although there is still much work ahead, everyone must remain united and work together for the continued development of Ogbaru.
