Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Wing Worldwide has dissociated itself from some inciting comments and propaganda made by one Igboayaka.O. Igboayaka and the so called Ohaneze Youth Council.
In a press statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Maazi Chika Art Adiele
said that there is nothing like Ohanaeze Youth Council, and that the allegation that tens thousands of people were killed, detained or displaced only in Imo State, are unverifiable and capable of violent incitement; especially amongst the Youths and must not be tolerated under any guise.
The group noted that South East has its fair share of the national security challenges, but politicizing it cannot be condoned and must be vehemently resisted.
Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Wing maintained that they will never condone extra judicially killing of unarmed Igbo youths anywhere or allow Igboland to be turned into a theatre of war by irresponsible actors who use the Youths to capture power.
Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth wing worldwide aligned themselves with the leadership of the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, as he has demonstrated uncommon capacity in security, peace and economic development of Ala-Igbo, especially as it affects the Youths.
They maintained that Chief Iwuanyanwu has activated various measures to ensure the release of Mazi Nnnadi Kanu without making noise about it.
Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth wing therefore issued a four day ultimatum to Igboayaka O. Igboayaka to withdraw all the fallacious statements he made against Iwuanyanwu and tender unreserved apology to the Leader of the Igbo Nation and Igbo Youth at large or face the consequences for defamation.
They, however, stressed that they condemn in strong terms the remote and immediate causes of the security challenges in the local communities and thay they have swung into fact finding mission in order to set the records straight and profer means to lasting peace, stability and security of lives and property in Ala Igbo and Nigeria at large.
