Ondo: Police Give N38.8 Million Cheques to Deceased Officers’ Families

The police commissioner in Ondo, Abayomi Oladipo, has presented cheques totalling N38.8 million to widows and members of families of officers who died in the line of duty.

This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by the command’s spokeswoman, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya.

Mr Oladipo said the action was in line with the inspector general of police, Kayode Egbetokun’s commitment to the welfare of both serving and families of the late officers.

“IGP has made it a point of duty to ensure that the welfare of families of the late officers are adequately taken care of.

“The cheques presented are for claim settlement, Group Life Assurance and Group Personal Accident Insurance schemes meant to improve the welfare of family members of late police officers,” he said.

Therefore, the police commissioner urged the beneficiaries to use the money wisely and improve the welfare of their families.
