The Chairman of Njikoka Local Government Area, Hon. Chinedu Ononiba
has announced a registration program for farmers in the six towns of Abba, Abagana, Enugwu-Ukwu, Enugwu-Agidi, Nawfia, and Nimo.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that Barr. Ononiba in a bid to boost agricultural productivity and improve the livelihoods of farmers in Njikoka, maintained that the initiative is part his efforts to make the local government area a liveable and prosperous community in accordance with the vision of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
In a press release by the Supervisory Councillor of Agriculture, Hon. Chika Omile, the registration exercise will take place at the Njikoka Local Government Headquarters (Agriculture Department) from March 17th, 2025, and will run daily from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Tuesdays to Fridays.
According to Omile, this program aims to provide Njikoka farmers, access to essential resources, training, and support to enhance their agricultural practices.
“Njikoka, with its fertile soil and favorable climate, has immense potential for agricultural growth. The Mayor’s initiative is a step in the right direction, as it will not only empower farmers but also contribute to the overall development of the community.
” By registering, farmers will be able to benefit from various programs and services designed to improve their productivity and income. This includes access to improved seedlings, fertilizers, and other agricultural inputs, as well as training on modern farming techniques.
“The registration program is open to all farmers in the six towns, and it is expected that this initiative will have a positive impact on the lives of farmers and their families.
“As the Mayor continues to work tirelessly to make Njikoka a liveable and prosperous community, this program is a testament to his commitment to the welfare of the people”. Omile stated.
