Oyi LGA Boss ‘Nweke’ Bags Grassroot Development, Good Electoral Value Award

The Transition Committee Chairman of Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, Honourable Emmanuel Nweke, has bagged “Electoral Excellence and Grassroot Development Award’ from a Port Harcourt based organization, FREENEWS Magazine, Published by Obev Industries Limited, Rivers State, Nigeria. 

ANN reports that the award was presented to the Council Chairman at his office in Nteje, headquarters of Oyi LGA, on Wednesday.

Chairman, Editorial Board of FREENEWS Magazine, Mr Obinna Evaristus Mbonu during the presentation commended Hon Nweke for his impact towards ensuring that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s mission and vision of making Anambra a livable and prosperous state is achieved.

Mbonu said that the award came as a result of the Chairman’s efforts in developing his rural domain and also ensuring that the election of President-General, Igweship of various community was successful and also his ability to win the 2023 general election legislative seat that concern Oyi Council Area under the platform of the State ruling-All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA.

According to Mbonu, “The award is in recognition of the massive rural development drives of Governor Chukuma Soludo in the provision of rural roads, health care facilities, construction and renovation of schools, agricultural interventions and the ongoing Youth empowerment programme in the council area and beyond.

Hon Emmanuel Nweke In his acceptance speech expressed happiness for the recognition. The Mayor of Oyi thanked FREENEWS magazine for the award noting that the honour will spur him to do more for the people of Oyi Council Area.

In his words “It is a thing of joy when one is appreciated. This shows that the efforts me and my team is making is noticeable.

“This award is an indication that my people are seeing what I and my administrative team are doing to ensure good governance in the area.

“This is a motivation and i appreciate the award. Its a team work and I will continue to do my best for the good of my people”.
